Saturday Dave Schueler and I ran a playtest of our Enfilade scenario depicting the air attacks on the HMS Illustrious in January 1941. Ships by Daveshoe, planes by Ksmyth, rules by David Manley.

Great looking game and thoroughly enjoyable AAR. Thanks for posting.

Excellent all around. What scale(s) are the ships and planes?

KSmyth09 Apr 2018 7:13 p.m. PST

The planes are 1/300 scale, mostly Raiden. The ships are 1/700-I don't know the manufacturer.

Thanks for taking a look.

… but how illustrious can a Playtest get?

I've run attacks on HMS Illustrious a dozen or so times.

She was finally hit and sunk in the last game.

Attackers: 12 Ju-87B, 5 SM-79 each with TWO torpedoes.
No escorts.

Defenders: 4 Malta-based Spitfires (Illustrious was
making for Malta, having been part of a
convoy's escort).

The carrier took 3 bomb hits and 4 torpedoes, but
remained afloat UNTIL a critical hit started raging
fires.

The attackers lost 5 Ju-87's and 3 of the SM 79's.

It was a great game. Loved that re-roll rule. :)

There are going to be two aerial dogfight games at Enfilade with Fairey Fulmars….? SMH. I had never even heard of a Fulmar until this year.

I'd play the Illustrious game, but I'll be running a GQ 3 game in that time slot. Bummer.

Fulmars are bad. Buses with guns.

The re-roll rule is dead. I killed it. Maybe, sort of.
