Hey all!

We are happy to finally be able to really announce our first major CONTEST over at Minuteman Miniatures!

If you purchased a miniature of YOU at Cold Wars, then all you have to do to enter is to paint you up, and then post a photo of miniature you and a photo of REAL you (selfies are fine, young people!) over at the Minuteman Miniatures Facebook page.

One entry chosen at random will win one of EACH of our FIRST EXPANSION WAVE for FREE… which should make a lot of people happy, as our first expansion wave will be THE DARK AGES, and will consist of a Scottish Highlander, a mounted Norman warrior, and a Viking lord (WIP above)… and who DOESN'T want to be a Viking?!

We will have more information on THE DARK AGES wave in a few weeks. In the meantime, stop by our Facebook page…

… and enter the contest, and win some free YOUS!

And if you DIDN'T make it to Cold Wars, we hope to see you at another convention soon… we'll be at Little Wars in a few weeks, and already have several conventions lined up after that including, of course, Historicon.

Thanks all for your patronage (and your patience with our teething pains!) and we hope you love your miniature You!

This is very cool! Any chance of getting other WW2 combatants (British, Soviet, Japanese and maybe Partisan) added to the choices?

Lord Ashram09 Apr 2018 2:43 p.m. PST

Yes!

So, the way it is working is that we are taking requests (like, pledges of purchase). As soon as we get ten requests for a figure, we talk to our sculptor to add it to the library! We actually got a TON of requests at Cold Wars… here is the "Of, By, For Gamers" board at the end of Cold Wars, so you can see what we are getting close on…

And there are a few that have since gotten to ten (and ONE that actually is getting fully sponsored by a SINGLE PERSON who really wants it… he gets a load of cool stuff for that!) I don't know why, but at Cold Wars people didn't really think of other WWII stuff, but I'd be SHOCKED if we don't do a few more, like British and Russians at least!

Our group is planning to get our very own personal zombie figures at Historicon.

Zombies, or zombie hunters?

Now this is an interesting twist!

Wonderful to think how the distaff side would approach this, if offered a miniature of oneself.

In our house, the arms would both be raised, the wrists would be extended, the fingers would be bent back to an impossible angle and the cry would be………a shriek….

"NO, I need to lose ten pounds, I need to spend £X (some unbelievable sum for 30 minutes work which I could do with a set of Vallejo paints) on my nails, I need to spend £ the previous sum x 4-5 in the hair stylist…they are not hairdressers any more…"

All of this would mean looking at the end result of the figure. "Does my bum look big in this?"

Possible answer, "well by Front Rank standards no……..but compared with Brigade Games Miniatures…." "No it still looks just…fine".

"Is this rifle green really me?"

Yes pet

"Would I not look better with that lovely expensive, fur lined, (gulp), laced jacket, worn over the left shoulder?"

Yes pet.

"Do I need a larger size in this Dolman….?"

No pet…no pet…(no hesitation, that smaller size is you pet……the buttons are just badly placed)

Promise me you will only do this for the gents and by that I mean those with XY chromosomes….dawghouse here I come! I am so non inclusive I know……..
