We have a new diorama project, the Battle of Solferino 1859.
The diorama should be several square meters in size. Several hundred figures are mastered by Massimo Costa.
So let's model the entire army of French and Austrian, with infantry, cavalry and artillery.
Massimo has already finished modeling over 80 figures. The figures are fantastically modeled.
On the diorama come a few thousand figures.
We will also offer all the figures for sale. Starting in the summer of 2018, the first tin figures in the 1/72 scale will be made by Schilling figures.

Here are some pictures of the unfinished church.
The bell tower with its wooden interior and the bells, finishing work on the roof, some statues, crosses and small details are still missing.
The final painting will only be done when all buildings are finished.

They are certainly beautiful figures. The sculptor clearly spent a lot of time studying paintings and photos of that era: the faces of the French are very, very 2nd Empire, with their moustaches bristling in a proper Gallic manner.
