I understand there's free parking for bikes on the 3rd Floor of the main building car park.

Anyone ever used it and what's it like in terms of the amount of space and security etc.

Currently thinking about riding to Salute next weekend.

I've used the car park with a car several times with no problem as far as security is concerned nor with getting a space. Can't help on the space availability for bikes, I've never been that high up in the car park, and I don't normally arrive until after 9 am.

I've used it with a car myself, loads of times, but like you I've never been up on the 3rd Floor, that's why I was asking.

The security thing is not just a matter of theft or vandalism, in multi story car parks its also a matter of location vis cars, vans etc. Some people don't reverse as well as they might. I've never seen a car knocked over but bikes are a different matter.

I've never been that high up either.

If it says there is free parking for bikes on the third floor it sounds like there is a dedicated area for bikes. So, no worries about cars knocking them over?

I wonder what the situation is with bicycles? Maybe I should cycle up? Or would I be the subject of a wargamer witch hunt….

How will you transport all your new toys home on only 2 wheels?

Trajanus09 Apr 2018 2:58 a.m. PST

Ah!Thought of that one, the bike has a large top box! :o)

Depends on how you look in Lycra!

Ridiculous is how my wife describes it…

Harsh! :o)

Wargamers in lycra! Is that one of those strange corners at Salute for the non-historical members of this hobby? Think I missed the kick starter on that.
