Did Oswald act on behalf of the Cuban government, as revenge for CIA attempts to kill Fidel Castro? Or revenge for the failed Bay of Pigs?

Maybe, maybe not. Unless new evidence comes to light we may never know.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP07 Apr 2018 6:15 p.m. PST

Oswald was a patsy.

The hit man was on the grassy knoll, either behind the fence or possibly in the drainage culvert.

Next time you're in Dallas, go to the site, visit the Book Depository museum and go to the window they say Oswald fired out of. Decide for yourself if a right-handed shooter could hit the president from there.

Who hired the hit man? It was probably the Grays, who did not want the United States to follow up the Moon missions with extensive exploration and colonization, especially of the far side of the Moon and of Mars.

Two Words: "Jesuit Ninjas".

Oswald was a die hard Communist and he murdered an American president and a police officer because he hated this nation.

Other theories are out there to divert attention, and blame, from the left.

Oswald acted alone. I agree with Bunkermeister. There have been tests that show all the shots came from Oswald.

A new theory ( not that I believe it ) is that the kill shot was fired accidentally by the Secret Service from the trail car when it lurched to a stop. And that's why no autopsy in Dallas and the SS taking complete control of the autopsy back in DC

The Mob.

Everybody seems to overlook dear, innocent Jackie.

#1 – At the Ambassador Hotel it was she that suggested to Bobby that he stop by the kitchen for a sandwich and a shot on the way to the ballroom to give his speech.

#2 – She was the financial backer for Ted in developing self driving cars. He once asked her what would happen if he were unable to pay her back. She responded, "We'll cross that bridge when we come to it".

#3 – Jackie and JFK were in a heated argument the entire time in that Dallas motorcade. She had enough and told him to leave her and shack up with one of his mob floozies. To which he responded "I need that like I need another hole in my head." She said, "OK."

Sorry gang, gotta run, they are here with my next dose of meds…

Anyone that posts the correct conspiracy theory here will probably "disappear" within a week.

Immediately after the shooting, the word out in my Italian neighborhood in Chicago was that it was a mob hit. Funny that certain Mob leaders were killed not too long after the incident.

@IronDuke596: Assassinations make for interesting gaming, often with a nice cross-over between role-playing and miniatures games. Some years ago, my group did an assassination scenario where the target was going to be riding a limousine across the game table, and various factions were trying to kill or protect him. We had a great time killing each other, rounding up civilians who may or may not have been assassins, and directing traffic away from the motorcade route.

At the last second before the target got out of reach, a rebel squad sprinted out of cover and succeeded in killing the target with, if I recall correctly, a satchel charge thrown onto the roadway.

You want assassinations ? Go play 'JUNTA' !

Our group's favorite (created) Junta character was
Col. Sharkey, he of the silenced .225 and expert
'doubletapper'…

In Puerto Rico we always heard talk that it was because of the embargo, the missiles and Bay of Pigs.

More than enough motive. But that's not enough to rule out other suspects.

I'm glad this will be a TMP poll.
That will settle everything.
It's so important that I'll try to talk the OFM into voting too. Usually he passes.

I highly doubt Cuba had little to anything to do with the JFK assassination …

But I've always thought Oswald's "miraculous" shooting capabilities with a Carcano Carbine was "suspect" …

Of course I'm "suspect" of some of the other "theories" as well. E.g. the mob, rogue CIA, even the USSR, etc., …

If anyone is interested in getting a little more insight into this subject I would recommend the following books:

Case Closed by Gerald Posner. This provides a great baseline on which to build. Posner glosses over and tries to downplay some issues that are profound and ignores others, but puts the case solidly in the real world.

Mortal Error by Bonner Menninger. This book explores what I believe is the best evidence based scenario of what took place at Dealey Plaza, but little beyond that.

The Killing of a President by Robert Groden. Large format book full of glossy photos that are very useful. The author intends to build a case for conspiracy yet all the real photo evidence in his book undermines it.

The JFK assassination is the most documented murder in all history. You can even watch film of him being killed. There is no excuse for believing some of the garbage out there like grassy knoll shooters or that Oswald's shot was somehow a hard shot or that the bullet that went through the body of Kennedy and Connolly was somehow impossible. There are plenty of real questions in this case to ponder without getting sidetracked on issues that can be proven beyond a shadow of a doubt. In other words, there is enough evidence available to the armchair sleuth to know almost exactly what went on that day, who shot whom from where. The difficult part is making a case for why.

I have come to believe a certain conspiracy theory about the case. Hint: The "Mob" wasn't involved (meaning the Italian mafia) but the Syndicate was. The motive for the killing was very profound in more ways than one.

KSmyth09 Apr 2018 4:22 p.m. PST

Oswald was the shooter, but I also believe he was working for someone. Cuba, the Mob, the Syndicate, Jimmy Hoffa, the Mercury 7, somebody. That the dying Jack Ruby was able to get close to him while Oswald was in police custody is just a little too neat for me. I'm not a conspiracy-driven person at all.

Lion in the Stars09 Apr 2018 6:35 p.m. PST

If you have been to Dealy Plaza, you need to remember that the trees haven't been trimmed down since the shooting. So *now* (and at the time of the movie JFK), the trees block LOS from the window to the street. The trees didn't block LOS in 1963.

Oberlindes Sol LIC Supporting Member of TMP10 Apr 2018 2:50 p.m. PST

@Lion in the Stars: The problem with the shot from the book depository is not line of sight, but rather the positions of target and sniper. JFK's limousine was below and to the right of the window where Oswald was positioned. To shoot with his right hand and eye, he would have had to lean his upper body out of the window and twist to his right.

A retired Army sniper once told me that he would never try that shot. If he were at the window, he would have fired while the limousine was coming toward him on Houston Street, before it turned left onto Elm Street.

So it wasn't the infamous "Babushka Lady" then? :)
