Hi all, I saw this in Lidl yesterday for £6.99 GBP, they measure approx. 1m x 2m which is a fair sized battle mat. With some additional spray paint I think it could be customised to suit most scales and games. I would show pictures of it rolled out but the glorious British weather kind of hampers this idea. I will post again once the spray paint has been added…when the sun comes out again

A similar mat is also currently available in Aldi, for the same price (Seen in Honiton last Tuesday)

I can't imagian Lidl sell them as battlemats. What do they think they are? Just so I can look in the correct area of the store.

Thanks

I bought a couple of those when they were on sale last year. They're holding up well so far.

No Lidi in USA, that I know of. I did, however, by something similar at Maynards yesterday. Carpeting at 44 cents per square foot. I bought 6 feet by 4 feet for under $12. USD Just what I need for Congo. Just needs some color sprayed on, various browns and greens to get it a more wild look.

Here it is rolled up. Also a sample piece to show texture and thickness. Not good for draping, too stiff.

Fusilierdan, I think they are sold as interior matting for camping. I found them where they display the current bargains, usually in the middle of the shop

You can find it in the US at Lowes and Home Depot, I did a series of posts a couple of years ago on using this material to make table coverings

Drybrush with latex house paint or use camouflage color spray paint to tone down the "golf-course green" color

Bobgnar--there are Lidl in the US, they recently started putting in stores--Virginia has a few new ones, anyway (new as in opened 2017). I haven't been yet, so can't say whether they have these matts.
