Many years ago I acquired some 10mm ECW (as per my other question about how tightly to base), and they have been progressing in fits and starts. The intention was to base for Regiment of Foote by Peter Pig.

Then a couple of years ago I was given some traditional 25's – proper inch high Hinchcliffes from the 70s. These I based up for RoF, and padded them out a bit with some extras to give some flexibility in the army list choice.

Now, what to do with the 10s?

Do I press on and have a RoF army? I get 12-16 on a base as opposed to 2 25mm
Do I rebase 1-2 on a penny and play Pikeman's Lament in centimeters measurements – 1p = 1 figure?
Do I rebase 3-4 (or more) on 2p and play PL as written, with a 2p = 1 figure?

(A 2p is 25mm diameter, a penny 20mm)

1.

Nope.
Not a question worthy of a True Gamer(TM).
A True Gamer(TM) would just dig deep into his bank accounts and hit the web for retailers of both 10mm and 25mm ECW, eventually acquiring a mountain of lead and/or plastic, new and refurbished, impoverishing his family in the dong so. And, he'd do it with a mad cackle in his eye while being prone to rambling discourses on the roots of the ECW being in the Roman occupation.

He might at this point come onto the TMP and complain that nobody understands him… But that's an optional extra.

So go get those 10mm figures!

For larger battles stick with the 10s – if you prefer the smaller ones go with the 25s

Be a man and just take a decision yourselve. :-)

Only two scales?

Which do you enjoy painting the most? Do more of them and sell the others.

What Narratio said. Obviously.

My advise would be to add 15mm into the mix as well. Maybe a few 40mm for skirmish while you are at it! My favorite army is medieval Scots which I have in 28, 15, 10 and 6mm. This being the case, I am probably not going to give you the best advice. I also have ECW in 28mm and 15mm btw. I think that they each have their place and both could be useful so keep them all.
