He's also missed out a few things he should have picked up – the Chinese were using man portable flamethrowers and chemical (arsenic compounds) smoke weapons by the 1200's. The Romans were recruiting Africans of various backgrounds from the Early Empire, and only really stopped when the Eastern Empire collapsed, and maybe not even then. |
