Bases are 30mm square, for Regiment of Foote. Pike I get 15-16 10mm on a base, as I base tight as I can I note other people dont have that many – are they being just more frugal with figures, or am I making them too close order? Musket I get 10-12, 3-4 rows of 2-3 |

Not 10mm, but just for reference: I have six (3x2) 15mm pikes to a 30mm base, 2x2 muskets. I plan to do small sepeate command stands for each, but that comes later. For me, it's never so much frugal with minis so much as frugal with painting. I'm OK with 28's being more "representational" with relatively few per unit, and for whatever reason, most seem to use 15's that way, too. But I would prone to pack 10's & 6's considerably tighter. Still, sixteen here sounds like a lot! |

Thanks, but I think I'm not making myself understood – same problem on another site with this question. Its not about actual drill, its about have I overdone it trying to get as many on as possible? Or should I thin them out? link |

Personally, I think they look outstanding! I fully understand what you are asking – I try to cram as many figures on a base too. The resultant mass looks far more impressive on a table. (Well, if it's appropriate for the period that is. Open or loose order ACW, or WW2 are a different story). The downside is, of course, time and money. Costs a lot more in both! Just my opinion, but if you can afford it, stay the course. And your post comes to me at a vulnerable time – I've been perusing the Pendraken website with an eye to raising an ECW army myself, suitable for both RoF and the new "For King and Parliament". |

Sure, sorry, I get it now. I think the overall look is good, but would consider taking your pike back to three ranks like the musket. The relative differences in file spacing looks good. I think you could drop your cavalry back to 4 figures a base – but get why you have gone for 6. |

Tony – its not so much the cost, its painting time! Alan – The Shot is on 4 ranks – usually 3-2-3-2 The problem is for flexibility and not painting to a set list I am doing 4 shot, 2 musket- Thats 40 +30! Per unit. These are Pendrakens. The muskets have the apostles, you have to dry brush once you know they are there! |

4 shot 2 pike, obviously! |
