I don't want to turn this into a list of 89 people, where the vote gets whittled down. Rules. You can choose 4, AND ONLY 4, people you would like to sit with at a good old fashioned dinner party. You may not choose more than 4; if you do, your entire party will not be in the Poll. The guests may be as diverse, or non diverse as you wish. If you want to invite more than 4, the overflow can only be at separate ranked, and that table is a different poll option. I hope this is clear. Give reasons why, too, although the final poll, if there is one, need not give reasons. Table 1. General George S Patton Richard Feynman, physicist Camille Paglia, feminist Muddy Waters, blues man Reason? I want my table to sing Mannish Boy after the dishes are cleared. Patton can join in with his high tenor, if he can stop flirting with Camille. Feynman can play spoons, if he's not too busy cracking safes. Table 2. Aaron Burr Ringo Starr Linus Pauling Bill O'Reilly I dearly want to hear Bill explain the nature of the chemical bond to Ringo, and hear Pauling ask Burr just what the heck he was up to. Note. These two tables do not mix. This is a list of two and only two options. It is not a list of 8.

Thomas Jefferson James Madison Alexander Hamilton And Me…… I get to sit in on the dinner that resulted in the Compromise of 1790. The dinner would be excellent (Jefferson served a wonder table); it would be fascinating to hear how they worked out the Compromise which changes the country. And best of all to watch Jefferson's and Madison's faces after they realised Hamilton had seriously out foxed them. |

John, somehow when I saw the title I thought you meant historical miniature figures. Oh well here are a few tables worth, in each case I would like to be there with them at the table. Six tables, six days of dinners, Sunday eat leftovers. Table 1 Jesus Paul the Apostle Peter Mother Teresa Table 2 Alexander the Great Fredrick the Great Catherine the Great Napoleon Table 3 Ben Franklin John Adams Thomas Jefferson Thomas Paine Table 4 George Washington Abraham Lincoln U.S. Grant Teddy Roosevelt Table 5 Galileo Isaac Newton Albert Einstein Thomas Edison Table 6 Bach Beethoven Mozart Strauss I might need a Babel Fish to aid with the interpreting. |

Now that you have your guest list … What would you serve ? Catered, "home cooked" or at a restaurant's private dining room ? And just order off the menu ? And most importantly … who paying for this/gets the bill ? |
