Many people seem to think the latest version of 40k has improved the game. I still struggle with its ugo igo system.

I haven't played it but could those that have advise how difficult it would be to add alternating or random unit activation?

I'm guessing trouble might arise from systems such as strategems and psychic powers which are tied into the phase/turn system.

TIA

The new Necromunda game has alternating activations, maybe look into that.

One of the reasons I came back to 40K was because it does NOT have alternate activation. I HATE that.

I play 40k and KoW with my teenage boys and I think it works well because it is IGO UGO.

I struggle with IGO UGO for historical games but don't care when it's fantasy/sci fi.
