No problem ! My misunderstanding … |

Slightly larger, maybe up to double or so man size, walkers might not be too impractical. They would be able to navigate into places wheeled or tracked vehicles couldn't go while carrying a greater payload/heavier weapon than a human could carry and would be more durable than a man. Take a look at the DARPA 4 legged mule and 2 legged bot. They are just prototypes and they are already harder to knock down than a human and can carry a hell of a lot more. The problem that hasn't been solved is a compact power source that lasts any significant amount of time. The prototypes run off a wired power source and aren't free ranging since they are tethered to an external power source. Giant killer robots, on the other hand, make no sense. |

Cockpits with what seem to be blind spots like the tie fighter might not be impractical at all if the pilot has a virtual targeting system using external optics that allows him to essentially see right through the obstruction. I think the Apache helicopter uses something similar. |

"Hand grenades that teleport the target to an alternate dimension." Red vs. Blue reference? Also add my voice to the "Walkers, Wally The Fox?" chorus… Duck |

Have seen those in the news, etc. I'd think they be a welcomed addition to Infantry units, etc., once perfected. As a Rifle PL and later Mech Inf Co Cdr I always thought I'd like to have a few T2s in each Sqd ! LOL ! Giant killer robots, on the other hand, make no sense. Again totally agree … anything that Big is a Big target. Even using tall structures, e.g. in cities, as cover and concealment. That would make them "meat on the table" for Infantry hiding in the all the buildings with AT[Anti-Tank & Titan !] weapons. Andin many places there would be mines/IEDs/Booby Traps, etc., emplaced along many likely avenues of approach, etc. Just like Tank Hunting Tactics. Even if the city is "rubbled" the Infantry could hide in all the nocks & crannies, etc. … Like at Monte Cassino, in WWII, etc. |

Buzz Droids Hit a space fighter with a missile. No Boom. Just a bunch of idiot droids with chainsaws and stupid sound effects. |

Much as it hurts, for near future, I assume so as far as fighting ships. Doug |

Giant humanoid mecha that duel with laser swords and huge salvos of inaccurate and ineffective missiles… oh, and the pilot sits in the head, inside a fragile canopy, so when the whole thing transforms into a WW2 style 'space fighter' he can see out the window while he engages other transforming giant mecha with laser swords and shoots useless lasers at hulking capitol ships armed with hordes of useless lasers. …That one was for you Legion 4 !!! |

I gotta call a point of order on the robot-transforming-into-a-fighter-plane: Pilot is in the torso of the robot, not in the head. But otherwise, yeah, rather high on the stupid combat idea. Also very high on the rule of cool, though. |

Well, I'm not fond of the non-transforming mechs with pilots in the heads, either. ;->= I must say, I might have been cool with the 'kewl' veritech had I seen it as kid, but I was a young man, and found it 'meh' from the beginning. But this list will all be YMMV… Doug |

I was a HUGE fan of the early Hours Heresy novels but it seemed that every time they ran into an "advanced" alien or human race that race would have some stupid technology like a gocart that made them look like centaurs or a crossbow that fired magic power bolts. The writers lack of originality in depicting other advanced cultures really pained me at times. |
