I'm new to the hobby. I bought a box on Perry infantry (the set you can paint as either union or reb) and the Vallejo ACW paint set. The proble. Is that I do t know what to use the various colors for. They don't even reply seem like ACE colors for the most part. This is a big ask but anyone have or know where I can find suggested uses for each paint in that set? |

Try web searches for images of "Perry Plastic ACW Infantry" and the results should give you a pretty good idea of what colors to use for what items. There should be plenty of pics of gamers' finished figures on the web. This box was one of their earliest plastic box releases. You might also find some painting videos on YouTube that will be useful to you. If the above doesn't help you enough, ask more questions. |

Thanks! I did find some info. I think I can wing it. I was thrown my the variety of blues and greys; do you use one as a base and the others in layering? I generally use the same color lightened up a bit for highlights and that's probably what I'll do here. The Oxford Blue looks super purple on their chart but I'm sure it'll be a good shade in 28mm. |

I used dark Prussian blue for my AWI Continentals' coats and would probably use that color for Union infantry coats too. |
