Need some help with ratings for FoF. In the supplement for Vietnam they list the strength for a recoiless rifle to be
3/2 (M) where the first number is AP strength and second is AT. There is no mention of size of rifle but I assume either 75 or 90mm. The Ontos has 106mm and it's strength of rifle is 4/3 (M). So my questions are:
1. the generic rating 3/2 is for the 90mm?
2. Would the rating for a 75mm be any different?
3. Did anyone use the 75mm?
4. Assuming yes to the numbers above I know ARVN and the French used a 57mm rifle. Would a 2/2 {m} be a reasonable stat line? The reason I chose 2/2 is because the "super bazooka is 1/2 {m}.
Any help would be appreciated. I am not very familiar with recoiless rifles.

Thanks

Joe

75mm was used by the French, French era AVN, NVA and Vietminh.
M63 90mm was much superior to 75mm HEAT wise.
The 75mm and 57mm were not very effective AT weapons the 57mm HEAT was less effective than a 2.36 Bazooka. The 75mm HEAT equivalent to the Bazooka. The Super Bazooka more effective than both.
They were more effective HE wise.

Does anyone make any of these in 28mm?

Andy,
Thank you for the info. So it appears that the book's 3/2 (m) is refering to the 90mm. Sounds like the French 75 should be downgraded to 2/2 (L). Probably the 57 should be as well.
Thanks for your help.
Richard, I play 15mm so am not sure. I would guess empress would make them.

Thanks again

Joe

FNG does the 75mm RR (I have several).

China reverse-engineered M20 recoilless rifle after the war and it was used extensively by the North. I think they made sure that the copycat version could use captured American ammunition but no the other way around.

Good to know.

Thanks
