Gentlemen: I came back from Cold Wars with pieces enough to make more than two dozen French Napoleonic Hussars. I don't want to. I've already done that. The idea is to assemble the plastic kits into a few each of the various "Guide" units, ADCs with distinctive uniforms and such--Guides de Moncey, Guides de Augereau, ADC de Berthier--that sort of thing. Can anyone recommend any they think especially attractive and/or obscure? And a clue about where to start looking for the more obscure ones would be appreciated.

Thanks,

R

Try starting with 'Guides and Guards of Commanding Generals and Headquarters 1792 – 1815' by Davin and Jouineau. This has lots of interesting uniforms to have a go at.

Hmm. Let me hedge that. Amazon UK refuses to ship it to me in the United States. (Are we a sanctioned country?) Amazon US will sell, but it starts at $80 USD in paper. Ouch!

It is still clearly the right book though. Must think about this.

Wow! That is a bit weird. $80 USD is a bit much. Sorry to dangle the prize and then see it whipped away. Maybe someone on the Marketplace might sell you a second-hand copy.

Robert: google "ADC de Napoleon" for images. You will see lots of uniforms for them. "ADC de Berthier"by the way, is shown here:
