What REAL flags look like this one?

Does it look familiar to you, as in similar to a (current or past) flag in the real world? If so, which ones?

Thoughts? Guesses?

Thanks

Dan

It's a cool flag, what film are those stills from?

Those are from a new (2016) ABC 6-part series of "Tomorrow When The War Began". So far it hasn't aired here in the States:

With the presence of several tall Caucasian-looking bad guys in the invading army, I think the series might be trying to move away from having a Pan-Asian Coalition as the foreign aggressor in the story, unlike the 2010 film.

It looks as if the Laotian and Philippines flags got married and had a kid.

Very much like the El Cid Resort hotels in Mexico.

Certainly somewhat Asian, e.g. the PRC, etc.

It also reminds me a bit of one of the flags Malawi has used:

And the flag of Kurdistan:

Except that the "sun" in the OP flag only has 9 rays. There was a proposal to change the flag of the Philippines to have a 9-ray sun instead:

PS. Hmm … It also looks like Taiwan's (ROC) admiral flag:

Lol. Well, Iraqi Kurdistan isn't entirely fictional: :)

The flag at the top of this thread also has a resemblance to the North Korean one, if the star had been centered.
