Has it struck no one else that Lord Ashram's collection of scanned wargamer heads will be of immense use for phrenological research? ("See the depression where the Bump of Persistence ought to be? Typical of the breed.")

Then again, considering it's all in his database--how about a 3D print of our opponent's head--on a pole for horse and musket, or hanging from a saddlebow for ancient and medieval?

See the depression where the Bump of Persistence ought to be?

time to apply Retrophrenology!

Retrophrenology (r-phreno for short) is the practical application of Phrenology. Instead of merely observing the bumps on the head of the subject, retrophrenologists attempt to find the bumps that cause problems, and remove them.

Likewise, bumps with positive effects are often added.

That's what I'll say the next time I have to hit someone over the head: "I was just performing retrophrenology. The subject had head bumps that made him so stupid that he became physically aggressive with members of my group. I accordingly proceeded to flatten those bumps and relieve him of that affliction."

Phrenology was a tactile thing, wasn't it? You had to feel the bumps with your fingertips, as I recall.

So it must be nearly impossible if all you have is a photograph and you can't even see the scalp because of hair.

Dan, seeing the scalp is not a problem with many older wargamers. Should Lord Ashram deliver the promised figure, he's had to promise to add hair and reduce girth, and I don't think I was the only one to sign on for the "bridal package."
