Does anyone make them? Kind of like a GW base, but MDF. Thanks, Xin

Since they are usually laser cut, beveled based would add another manufacturing process. Probably a sander. I'm sure it could be automated, but just how much are you willing to pay? I'm trying to visualize how you could bevel the edges of round or elliptical bases. My solution is DIY. Wear old clothes and a respirator. Lay a large piece of sandpaper on your leg and smooth them out yourself. |

Harbor Freight sells a 6-inch Disc Sander, with a beveling table, for $79.99 USD without a coupon (usually $10 USD off). This could be set to 45-degrees, and then you could sand them quickly, and efficiently. MDF is cheap, and readily available, on e-Bay, or your local DIY stores. Winston Smith is correct, however: wear a dust mask, as the dust is hazardous to breathe, over time. Cheers! |

There were some mdf bases I was using with a slightly bevelled edge. They had a black spot on one side. I think this was because the other side was coated with pva They were great but I cant find them anywhere. |

Renaissance Ink used to make them. Sadly, RI has closed shop. |

I prefer plastic bases because they come beveled. EM4 miniatures has good assortment at affordable prices. When I use craft wood to make bases, I bevel with a wood rasp and finish with sanding block. To match the plastic bases. |

Kind of like a GW base, but MDF. link The edge of laser cut MDF is always slightly bevelled. It's more obvious with thicker material. Be sure to have the base the way round that you prefer. |
