I have just added another warband to the Dacian collection which is now the centre of attention following the completion of some smaller projects in recent months.

WOW! Great job! Taking a break from Napoleonics I see.

Well Done!

Agreed – from brushwork to basing, a unit I would love to have!

Wow! Nice, no, amazing, brush work. I'd be afraid to play with them, myself, for fear of damaging the paint… The bases are superb, as well. You could most definitely get work from museums -- their displays got nothing on your work, from what I've seen thus far. Too bad for them! Cheers!

Beautiful paintwork Jonathan. But I always think models of warriors swinging double-handed weapons like a falx should be further apart. Lopping off the limbs of someone on your own side seems rather rude.

Excellent work! Beautiful coloring on the flesh tones!
What paints/colors did you use?

Bandolier22 Mar 2018 9:09 p.m. PST

You've done a great job. Well done!

Thanks chaps for you comments, very much appreciated.

Paul B: Yes I know what you mean about falxes and spacing. I think basing in general is a bit of a compromise between artistic licence and an element of ground scale and that huge subjective element of what looks OK to you.

wrgmr1: If you go back to the blog post and follow the link to my post on the EIR Legionaries you will find a video clip where I talk about the flesh tones I use. Most of the colours are from Vallejo.

Cheers
JJ

Great work. These guys don't look too friendly. Fierce warriors captured well with basing

Puddinhead Johnson23 Mar 2018 4:50 a.m. PST

You did a great job with them. But why does every barbarian miniature have a physique that would do a steroid-jacked muscle head proud?

Asteroid X05 Apr 2018 9:23 a.m. PST

@Puddinhead:

You may have to ask Robert E. Howard about that one …
