just wondering what anti-aircraft weapons did us paras use on their drops ww2 was it simply m2 hmg on anti-aircraft mounts or was anti aircraft defence simply ignored |

An airborne battalion did not have any M2s. An airborne division had a small AA battalion that had 36 M2s (in 3 batteries) on AA mounts. |

IIRC, an M2 .50 cal weights @ 128 lbs., not counting ammo. Not easy to hump around. |
