I might make this my next project for a wargame…..could be an excellent event to run at a convention for an evening session. |

That's the one ET. A fierce struggle that has lasted for decades. |

It is between the Danes and the Canadians. Every few months the Canadians send a warship to the island, they land some marines. The marines storm the island and take down the Danish flag, then they drink some bottles of liquor left for them by the Danes. A few months later the Danes will send a warship and land some troops. They storm the island and take down the Canadian flag, and drink some bottles of liquor left for them by the Canadians. This senseless conflict has been going on for some time. It could make a great wargame, after your troops storm the island you must do a shot. Not sure how many turns the game would last. |

Would this be a two player game or could you play this "Han Solo"? |

That's good. I think going Hans Solo would be a bit much for anyone not of Irish decent. |

Whisky & Schnaps I know this is your game but Ålborg Akvavit and either Canadian Club or Crown Royale would be most appropriate. all war should be that civilized I'm Canadian, so I may be biased, but I whole heartedly agree. Now to get a good scenario going. The game is to be GMEd by a State Trooper armed with a breathalyzer and a local supervising MD. Each turn, the storming side captures the enemy flag, and each member drinks D6 shots of the alcohol left by the other side. Plant your flag, leave your booze and retreat to your boat. Repeat and submit to breathalyzer test. As soon as one side reaches the legal limit, the other side is declared the winner. The losers are treated for acute alcohol poisoning, if needed. The convention directors may have to stipulate that prospective players have a signed liability release form, a designated driver, have a responsible guardian, or are booked in the adjoining hotel within stumbling distance. You run this and I will play this! Go Canada! Full disclosure, I have actually played in wargames that had drinking as part of the scenarios. On paper they sounded awesome, in reality less so. But they generated stories for years to come. |

Full disclosure, I have actually played in wargames that had drinking as part of the scenarios. On paper they sounded awesome, in reality less so. But they generated stories for years to come Oh my goodness!!! I remember one game like this…. it started with, "Hey, I'll bet you can't tell we've been drinking??" Sure…. The non drinker can never tell if you've been drinking. It ended with "Oh my goodness… he just got up from the table and is going into the corner. Is he going to pee or puke???" When they finally do commit me to a nursing home I'll always treasure that memory. One of my favorites!! |
