As the title suggests. In the ruleset or adapted house rules, how do you handle the use of grenades? |

Min/Max range. Small blast template. Every model touched rolls for damage. A 'miss' requires deviation roll to determine new point of impact. |

That is pretty much how we do it too. |

I like the way the original Disposable Heroes handled it best; A squad could only throw 2 per turn (thus no book keeping) and the blast was abstracted against the target (1 chance to hit die per figure in the target area with a minimum of 5 dice) thus no fiddly blast templates. |

Min/Max range. grenades have a min range of ZERO! YouTube link |

You shall count to three and three is the number to which you shall count. Thou shall not count to 4, and 5 is right out. |

Two Hour Wargames in the rule Nuts! (WWII) and FNG (Vietnam) handle them well. They have evolved somewhat over the years through different editions. No bookkeeping. Higher quality figures are more likely to hit the target. Blast circle if you hit. A die roll per figure in the blast circle to determine damage. Possibility of fumbling it. Tom |

One the pin is removed, the grenade is no longer your friend. |

I do a lot of WWII skirmish. I use the Skirmish Campaigns books frequently and they generally say 2 grenades per man. The first rule set I played and purchased was BAPS. They break the squad down into a MG group and a Rifle group. Each group would get 5 grenades total for the group and any soldier in the group could be tasked with a grenade toss. That way you could just keep a tally for the group as a whole as opposed to each individual soldier. |

I always say a fire team has 1 or 2 grenades in a game. I assume the game represents a small part of the soldiers day and they need to keep a few for emergencies! |

How about throwing grenades unsighted? It starts to get a bit "gamey", which is why I prefer to run WW2+ games more like Role Play Games. |

"How about throwing grenades unsighted?" If the target is unsighted, how do your figures know there is something there? (i.e. roll for spotting or given order by NCO/Officer who can see target?) Also, greater chance of miss/scatter? |
