I want to base 15mm minis individually. Pennies are a bit too big for me. Is there anything readymade which would give a smaller area? |

I prefer square/rectangular bases. I put magnet sheeting on bottom. I can then combine figures on top of metal stands for other games. You may have to custom order through Litko. I make my own bases as I have both a band and table saw. |

Dimes, but you would be increasing your cost like, I don't know, ten-fold maybe. |

You can use a #10 washer you can get 100 of them for around $2 USD |

I find #10 washers a bit small for most 15mm figures, especially ones that shade more towards 18mm as is common. They'll either tip over too easily, or their cast on bases will overhang on one side or another. US UAE 1/4 inch washers are pretty much perfect for most 15/18mm figures. If you want to get really fancy, buy 3/32 diameter by 1/32nd deep cylinder magnets and fill the hole with the magnet and a bit of epoxy to attach your figures. |

I use blank 1/2" wargame counters, the same size as the counters in the old SPI and Avalon Hill games. |

Go to your local hardware store and look at the washers available there. |

Definitely go smaller than a penny. I've always thought pennies looked oversized for 15mm. In fact, I use pennies as my standard basing on just about all of my 28mm figures. |

I've written an article, back in 2014, on my blog about using 1/4"washers. link |

I would honestly recommend that you give the pennies a go, even if they seem too big. The bit of extra space gives you something to grab without having to directly handle the painted mini, and a penny really isn't that large. |

Not "ready made" but easily cut into shape are Linoleum floor tiles from any big box store. A 12" by 12" piece is under a dollar (46 cents for the cheapest one at Home Depot locally). Easily cut with scissors to desired shapes and sizes. |
