Trying to clean up my Russians for a Borodino OOB I have a few units not in the 1st army and decided to throw a couple of cavalry regiments in the stripper to change them to units I have. Well stripped down a hussar regiment and started to repaint them and have dolman, pelisse and cords anc thoughg whg not keep like figures in same brigade? So do I stop painting, strip them again or overpaint of keep going? |

to topic yes yes yes in reality does it matters if you have 3 line regiments with red facings when there were only 2 there no adding extra guard or genadiers bad having proper number of line units but some have wrong facings ok to good, I mean I would not want a generic line unit all the same but considering the size of this battle I wouldn't worry about 85% accuracy when it comes to facing color or headgear Game it and have fun Just my 2 francs or rubles |

Jim you're right that the Little Russian Cuirassers don't need to go next into the stripper to become the Asktrakhan Cuirassers, substituting is good enough. |

The figures must be 'right' down to the last gaiter button! (Just kidding) I tend to use what is close enough is good enough most of the time. Although every once in a while for a given battle I have every unit painted as correctly. Kesseldorf and Lutzen spring to mind. |

I won't put the Little Russian Cuirassers in the stripper, but did put the old White Russian Hussars who got stripped and started to become the Isumsk Hussars back in and are on their way to become the Elizavetgrad Hussars. The few odd Mini Fig 2nds figures out of the unit so its only 8 figures, and if they are in a guard division it isn't going to matter. The lovely little other Hussar regiment with Heritage Napoleonetts is going to become Isumsk Hussars in a same brigade as another Heritage unit the Polish Uhlans. The Little Russian Cuirassers are also Heritage figures, they all are some of the first figures so are 35 years old. Still need at least 1 Hussar and 1 Dragoon and as you get 2 units will have last 2 Hussar and 2 Dragoons new, with only 1 cavalry unit substituting. |
