Link goes to a Vietnam War facts page. For me the best response to a surrender proposal is Tony McAuliffe's at Bastogne: "NUTS!" Jim |

COL there was a link on the right side of the page that took me there. Their choice was also "NUTS!" for number 1. |

Not sure if the movie quote matches the historical one, but in "A Bridge Too Far" I still find inspiration from the British Paras talking terms of surrender when cut off and pounded by the Germans: Major Harry Carlyle: "We haven't the proper facilities to take you all prisoner! Sorry!" German officer: "What?!?" Carlyle: "We'd like to, but we can't accept your surrender!" |
