I thought he started his service in Cornwallis' 33rd Regiment (Commanding officer, one Hon. A. Wellesley)?

Indeed, but we are in India!

Apparently Cornwall had Sharpe in Flanders at Boxtel, hence my post

So as far as TV was concerned, basically Green and Green with occasional Green.

Garry, Boxtel is part of Sharpe's''back story,' as the screen writers say. The relevant novel finds him in India, I believe. Hence 'Wellesley.'

Sharp leaving India in 1805, allowed the plot to involve him at Trafalgar.

I like the caped long coat he is wearing. Where can I get one! LOL

This website is dealing with the uniforms worn in the TV series, which took considerable liberties with the original novels by ignoring Sharpe's earlier service in the Low Countries and India, by having him save Wellesley's lif e in the Peninsula instead of at Assaye.
