Based on this earlier discussion I propose a new poll.

TMP link

There seem to be quite a few and of course we all must know which are popular favorites or we won't be able to sleep at night (or day for those who work nights).

Two polls, please: one for watchers and one for readers. But is the earlier link sufficient, or do I need to post everything again?

And for the movie/TV spacecraft poll

NCC-1701, the one and ONLY Enterprise.
The original Galactica, and its sister ship the Pegasus.
The Millenium Falcon, of course. What other ship could have made the Kessel run in 12 parsecs?
Moira from Farscape. And--surprise entry--
Nell from Battle Beyond the Stars. A shameless movie, but a truly great spaceship. The final countdown alone…

Does it strike anyone else that there is an optimum ship for adventure? Crew of two to seven, carries a very few passengers and incidental cargo--not the bulky regular shipments, but a few bicycles to Mars, or some crates which are not to trouble the customs people. That would describe Serenity, the Millenium Falcon, the Venture and the Rolling Stone. I think the Liberator might also qualify.

It has to be that Imperial Star Destroyer coming over the top of your head in the opening sequence of the first Star Wars. Also the Tie and X-wing fighters. There was nothing quite like it until 1977 Star Wars.

JimSelzer09 Mar 2018 6:07 p.m. PST

star ships by design can travel between stars I know Luke used his xwing to star hop but that seems the odd not the norm.

To the editors: Please don't make this a "down to 1" or even a "Top 5" poll.
If you do that, the answers will be The Enterprise, the Millennium Falcon, the Star Destroyer, the X-wing, and the TIE fighter, probably in that order, and we'll learn absolutely nothing from the poll. Instead, just make it one big poll, "no bloody A, B, C, or D" and maybe allow us to *rank* our choices. That should produce both interesting and fun results, and lead TMPers to ships and sources they've never considered or been exposed to.

Just a suggestion!
