Those are cuirassiers, not dragoons.

Still, nice work!

I paint Austrians. I argue that they are the toughest to paint because you have the whole issue of how to paint and then wash or highlight/shade the white. And then -- the biggest problem -- yellow. It is the worst. No mfgr has paint with good coverage and it is so bright that the black stands so stark and shows all lines. I see that you put a mild wash on the guns. Looks very good. I now challenge you to add black lines to the shabraques.

I like 'em.

Excellent work!

Esquire, agreed yellow is indeed the devils own colour to get right. To paint the yellow well I find I have to paint white or another much lighter colour first. And rather than trying to get it perfect in terms of lines, easier to go back and tidy up with the black to make the edges neat afterwards I find.

Very nice and I agree Austrians are a challenge. the hussars are a lot easier to paint-no shades of white :)

Thanks for all the comments guys.

These are obviously Cuirassiers… just 'one of those days' when I was writing this up…

Yellows and whites can be a read pain, especially to wash without them looking 'dirty'. I think taking your time is key, and accepting that it won't be as easy as the dark blues, greens and reds.

Painting those dark lines would be a challenge indeed! They would need to be super-thin, otherwise it would look really heavy and unrealistic.
