Why is it a dead game? Seems quite popular. Before you say it I am not a "fanboy" do not happen to like the rules, but do like the models. |

I just started building my Soviet force for TY. It looks neat and the models are pretty good. It certainly hits my 1970s Cold War button. It is unfortunate that the forum is closing for a bunch of reasons. Do you really think that it is a precursor for the demise of the game? |

Are you saying that the game will die because the forum is gone, or that you think the game is already dead? |
Archaeologist1970 | 07 Mar 2018 9:52 a.m. PST |
I am saying that the company as a whole has consistently made very poor business choices that are too numerous to list. In a niche market like wargaming, it will be difficult to continue down this path. Closing the forum will only alienate people thinking of getting involved. They heavily censor any constructive criticism of their products not only on the closing forum but also on their facebook page. |
panzerCDR | 07 Mar 2018 10:03 a.m. PST |
I hope this is not the case, but the signs are not favorable. On the one hand, they are the business experts (I most assuredly am not!), but it does seem that they are turning off more customers by shutting down the forum than saving the hassle of dealing with a few annoying ones. I have learned a bunch of neat things from reading the forums so I will miss them. |

Dead forum…Dead game. Only a matter of time… Yes, because game companies without their own forums inevitably fail. Like GW. It couldn't be that they've concluded that forums are used less and less as people adopt social media like Facebook as the hub for their communication concerning hobbies and the like and that they can promote their products and foster the community through other channels. Like GW. |

Sorry, this thread was meant inform TY players about the online campaign. If you have an axe to grind with BF could you take it to another thread? Thread hijacking and stuff… |

Minor observation: I like how the first mission was a complete cock-up (supposedly Warpac could instantly win because they start on the objectives) and BF's Facebook Group was flooded with questions asking how to fix it. Yet BF staff did not put up an announcement, or even bother to pin a notice on the top to tell people "Yes we know the scenario was wrong please play the normal one in the rulebook". Let's see if this campaign will be BF's Lam Sam 719 on their Facebooknization. |
