I ran a pretty fun game of Combat Patrol (TM): WWII this weekend set in the Philippines in 1941. The Japanese were advancing, and a small group of Americans were trying to stop them.
The game was a lot of fun. See more pictures and a full report here: bucksurdu.com/blog/?p=7446 |

Thanks. It is an interesting period for gaming, but finding figs has been something of a challenge in 28mm. |

A shame it is still overlooked in this Golden Age of figure availability. Desperate fights and daring deeds a plenty. |

Are the green terrain pieces down the center-ish of the table, a cleared area with the rest of the table jungle? Nice way to represent that is so. Nice looking table in any event. |

MC MonkeyDew: Yes, the felt patches represent cleared areas, and the rest of the table is jungle or rocky terrain. I didn't have enough felt patches to do it the other way. :) I also enjoy gaming Moro skirmishes. Buck |

The US Army in the Pacific is seems to be ignored by figure manufacturers. |

Very nice. I do that era in 1/72 and HO scale. There are lots of choices in plastic and metal. Strelets recently did three American sets for the period.
