Just to let you know I just did a review of a hex and counter boardgame for wargamer.com (not a blog, they pay me) on the Franco-Prussian War. Called On to Paris and published by Compass Games, it might serve you very well as a campaign system for fighting miniature engagements. Be advised, however, this game is not just a battle generator, but a solid and intense operational management simulation. Your decisions will mean something.
