I am going with 1 inch square bases for my infantry. What size cav bases do you use? |

Or 1 penny for infantry, and 2 pennies for cavalry. Even easier. |

^That's how we did it back in the day. |

Ditto to one penny, two pennies. I hope I don't get in trouble for defacing so many pennies by putting flocking on them and gluing figures. I must Admit that most of my pennies are Canadian. Back when I was creating the armies, a Canadian penny was 3/4 the value of the United States penny. I think I lost all savings, however, when I drove over to Canada for a day to go to the bank and buy $10 USDCanadian of pennies for $7.50 USD I started with 1 in.² bases But quickly found they took up too much space on the table and for storage. Luckily I haven't gone very far before I switched to three-quarter inch Penny bases. |

Penny bases for the infantry. This was after a bump of the table wiped out one to many RalPartha Zulu units. |

I moved to 3/4" washers, there's one kind with small holes in them that work pretty good. But one for In, two for cav. |

Used to use washers. Now ah cut 3/4 X 3/4 thin steel bases. |

I use 1" x 2" magnetized bases for all my cavalry and camel mounted troops as well as baggage trains minis. I use larger ones for Elephants. They are made from a Masonite type product with magnetic sheeting glued onto the bottom for secure storage. I get all my bases from the "Good Ground" company, the owner of Cracker Line Miniatures and Plank Road Miniatures. They have all sorts of different sized magnetized bases. crackerlineminis.com The owner, Bill Moreno is a true gentleman and artisan. The only thing that outshines his products is his customer service. This is one of the companies where a true gamer owns and runs it. Cheers, JB |
