Great AAR, Joe. Really like your set-up. The watch tower is really a nice looking piece. Look forward to reading about your next game. |

That watch tower looks fine Joe. Trouble is, standing up there, someone is just going to "pop" you! |

Ragbones, Thanks. Yes it is a nice piece. The sandbagged box is removable from the tower so you can place it lower if you want in case you are afraid someone is just going to "pop" you! Think I am going to move on to Hue next. Martin, the tower looks "fine"? I am crushed. I thought I did pretty well with the roof and MG. I even used the English word "chuffed" in the post so as to be more relatable. Either way you did a great job with it and love your figures! Thanks Joe |

Hello Joe Joe , you know me well enough to know I am an old fashioned Englishman. Who might often come across as reserved. In England "fine" is indeed high praise. There is a tendency in England to use less-hyperbolic terms. I would not use such words as "awesome", "far out", "Kewl", "mega" and "ultimate". When the English use "fine" you can equate it to a US "awesome". I might say "that ship has fine lines", "a fine job has been done here", "a fine performance". These might be translated across the Atlantic as "that ship is totally awesome", "an awesome ……. I reserve awesome for something that would literally make one's heart stop. Joe, it is indeed a fine model you have there!!! |

Martin, You are right! I have been back 3 years and I am already forgetting the English proclivity for the understatement. I will say most grown men will not say "kewl" though. I did hear some English teenagers say "brilfab" which I was told stood for Brilliant and Fabulous. Joe |
