Just added to my blog a short piece about a couple of WW2 tanks that I have just finished painting.

A little heavy on the mud on the treads for the Sherman but not unrealistic in wet weather – great weathering; the Panzer IV looks like an old salty veteran looking, as they say, to cut some fence and sort things out

They look good, who makes the British infantry?

@Frederick

Yeah it was the first time I had ever used the mud stuff, and I did get it a bit heavy in places… it had obviously been raining heavily where it had been driving!

The Panzer IV looks as you say like a veteran, it is ( I think ) an early war one maybe "C" but the turret looks wrong for an early tank!, I do have a short barrel turret for it as well which is the same shape as the one in the photo, which again looks wrong for the early tank, based on the photo's I have seen on the internet… but I don't mind really what version it is, to me it is just a Panzer IV that I use in games of Bolt Action.

@Londonplod

Sorry most of the British infantry I have I got second hand many years ago, and I have no idea who made them… I have looked on the internet in the past but have had no luck identifying them, but all my Commandos are from Warlord Games.

The Germans are newer, most are from Great Escape Games, but I do have a few older figures, again second hand and also of unknown makes.

I think they from a range called Warsquad, l had some of their US infantry and the poses look similar. They were a very early entry in 25mm when most WW2 figures were either 20mm or 6mm.
