The Battlefront figures are quite a bit cheaper, but looking at their new website I don't know if they look the part. The Flash point ones look nice, but they are a little more expensive and I can't quite tell how good they look either.

I have the vehicles, I just need the right infantry at the right price!

Overall I am looking to use ARVN 1970-1975. The Easter Offensive in particular.

I am only looking at these two because I already own Flashpoint and Battlefront figures, but I have no ARVN.

Thoughts?

Where have you seen Battlefront ARVN figures? I just looked at their website, and while there is a heading for them there is nothing listed in any of the Vietnam categories.

I have an early production Flashpoint ARVN figure, and he looks the part. Smaller than their Americans, with an oversized helmet and M16. Really nice, and would be perfect for your 70-75 timeframe. I don't have any Peter Pig ARVN figures, so can't comment on them other than to say that the other Vietnam figures from them are quite nice.

EDIT: Just found them in the Team Yankee: 'Nam store instead. Those pictures are not really large enough for a good view.

I have some of the Flashpoint ARVN and they are VERY good. Intentionally designed to BE ARVN, rather than "hey these guys can work for that, we can just change the name". Even in 15mm you can tell that there are examples of smaller Viets looking like they have oversize gear. Loadouts are accurate, and even their faces look asian. I have somem of the BF ARVN and their faces look like other BF offerings: just a hint of features.

YMMV

Thanks guys.

jaztez- Too small considering everything I have is roughly 18mm. That might fit the figures, but the weapons and such would be too small.

BrianW- Yes! The fact that they made a whole seperate site is really dumb. They did that with the DUST line of figures and it died.

Sounds like Flashpoint is the way to go. Thanks guys.

Flashpoint.

If size wasn't a consideration I would second Peter Pig.

If you're interested in gaming the Easter Offensive, you're going to need a lot of running figures unless you concentrate on the ARVN paratroops.

The Battle of An Loc suggests otherwise.

I thought BF's "new" (repackaged) ARVN figures were old WI figures from Flashpoint.

Actually, a mix of FP officers and Peter Pig troops works great for US-led forces (like Hmong or Montanyard).
