A fine gentlemen place a post on his plans for the French 1809 Corp under Davout in 6mm, some time back: TMP link So if he is still carousing the TMP these days, if he could post some progress to his 6mm forces to date and any further progress to some of the uniforms distinctions research of the more difficult to divulge regiments like the 61st, etc would be appreciated. curious MG |

I moved sadly to a small apartment up north so no painting. However, recently I have tried my best to find colonels of as many regoments as possible. For instance, the 12e Ligne I found a portrait of Colonel Vergez,Major Teulet(Colonel 67e Ligne 1812-1815) in white uniform, Major Teulle(Colonel 21e ligne 1812-1813) and Colonel Baudinot 1812-1815(former Chef d'batallion of 26e Legere). The 21e Ligne I found Colonel Dufour 1800-1805, Colonel Decouz 1805-1809,Colonel Teulle 1812-1813, and Colonel Carre 1814-1815. Right now my only goal is research and if you would like information let me know. Btw, sadly 61e Ligne I can find very little other than a picture of a drum major and uniforms from Egypt campaign. No portraits of colonels post 1805. Have a good day Michael |

Good to here from you. Sorry my reply was not sooner. Some how I missed your reply and it is easy to do in the TMP, it appears. Do you have a pictures of what you have completed before your move? Good luck on your research of Colonels. Is there a specific purpose/goal to that? MG |

MarshalGreg, I started to research the Colonels as my overall goal was to create uniform plates including portraits of Colonels, uniforms of musicians, sapeurs, drum majors and then uniforms from 1805-1812 and any changes in uniform. However, I found many contemporary portraits of Colonels that either show different uniform details and different shades of regulation colors(possible due to paint fading on the portraits) or the more common many Colonels had their portraits taken in their campaign uniforms such as Colonel Louis-Léger Boyeldieu 4e Ligne
and Colonel Charles-Baptiste-Bertrand Massy 4e Ligne killed in 1812
and one of my favorites Colonel Pierre Dereix of 74e Ligne during the first Restoration! link but was Colonel prior to that of 150e Ligne What do you think? pin.it/nblgd6d2epljq3I love research and being able to find out who these men were that I have read about for so mamy years is always exciting. Do you have pinterest? If so, please follow me as I have moved all my uniform details to that since I only have my phone now. Michael |

Hello MC Yes I have pinerest account and will have to figure out how to "follow". My daughter is great at that and will hopefully get me a lesson on the "how to". I take it you already review the Napoleon-series site which has almost, if not all known colonel info of the French regiments: link MG |

MG, I basically started with Light Infantry Colonels from 1805-1815 and searched each on google. It is amazing how much can be found from one name that leads to other important people associated with the name that is searched. Pinterest is easier than imageshack or photobucket that I have used to keep all my research in the past. Btw have you seen the 1812 Davout's 1st Corps? If you go on Cornett.ru you can look at the authors information on uniforms for 1812. Some regiments that fought 1805-1809 with Davout were no longer in his Corps such as the 51e Ligne. Here is the link for the free Pdf in russian with some english. cornett.ru/2.php#!/page_27 this shows Davouts Corps cornett.ru/1ak.php Some of his findings I am not sure about such as the first page shows 13e Legere Carabiner with white collar and white cuff details. All pictures I have seen from E.Fort and the painting of Battle of Landshut painted 1810 show blue lining. However, 1812 isn't my favorite period and I do not experience using research Russian sources. Hope this helps Michael |

Thanks Michael- most interesting resource but agree about using 1812 for 1809 focus. So to confirm this link is to your pinterest board? link I do not see where you have your photos of your troops you mention. The above must be incorrect/generic account. |
