I recently started watching Colony on Netflix after a couple friends told me it was better series than it sounds. Ok in the series the Aliens use Drones to monitor the humans. The Drones have a weapon on it that when it shoots a person, it causes their body to explode into a red mist. What type of weapon do you tech heads think it is?? Its not a ballistic weapon, if so it would go through the bodies and leave impact mark on the wall. Video: YouTube link I know in District 9, they have a exploding person weapon. Always wondered what type of weapon it could be?? Video: YouTube link (Brief story line: Aliens been watching earth for years. sets up a plan on how to wipe out the government, military & security. Its called the Arrival when they invade. Aliens take over and place huge walls around cities and areas to keep the population segregated. They place greedy humans in positions of power to keep control of the survivors. And a resistance forms against the power hungry humans and aliens) |

I would think some kind of microwave attack. Ever over cooked a hotdog in a microwave oven? |

ooohh, good idea!! Quick fast blast of microwave rays. Super heats the body and it explodes? In the District 9 video you can see what looks like lightening shooting out and hitting the guard right before he explodes. People get struck by lightening all the time and don't explode. So I like the super microwave ray. |

I would agree with Roving Bandit. Some type of energy burst like microwaves that causes water or plasma to overheat and burst. |

Curious as to where the show was playing? Any new seasons aired? I got up to when the main guy got his family out of the city…end of the season. Thanks. P. |

Can't stand the wife character in Colony. Hope Netflix brings Babylon Berlin to the UK one day – sounds good. |

redmist1122, Netflix has the first two seasons and I watched them this week. Season 3 was filmed between Sept 2017 – Feb 2018 and is suppose to have a release date later on in 2018. Roving bandit & Haywire, Now what kind of scifi body armor do you think would protect a person from a such a microwave blast?? |

From my minimal reading on the subject, I am studying electrical maintenance not engineering, there are several types of metal you can use to protect from the low frequency of microwaves. The real trick would be completely blocking your body so none of the waves can get through (joints and such). My best guess would be some form of riot shield type armor. Something you prop against the ground and get it completely between you and the weapon. Maybe work in groups of 2 or more guys in the team leading the way with shields and a second or more ranks of shooters. |

roving bandit, Now that gives a lot of options for some kewl looking miniatures. Use some SWAT style figs for humans and several options out there for the Drones. |
