Figures look nice so do the other sets. Of course I never saw Scotty run on the show i would have rather had a more static pose. Also what! no Wesley Crusher :)

If you want figures based on a popular I.P. like Star Trek then you are going to have to pay a premium for the figures to cover the cost of a licence. Also the price will depend on the number of figures expected to be sold, you can't compare the cost of a game based on a limited number of specific characters with the cost of generic figures which will be sold in large quantities. The price is high, but not excessive for what will be a low volume licenced product. Too pricey is dependent on what an individual is prepared to pay, on another post several people seem to think that $70 USD for a painted and assembled plastic tank was good value. For me that seems excessive for a model that can be assembled in little over 30 minutes and painted in not much more than an hour. When they bring out original series Klingons and a few more generic crew I'll be happy to buy them.
