I have all the 28mm Volksturm and HJ models I could find. Painting and working on them as work permits. Arms bands: this may be pushing t but I want the models to be accurate. They will sometimes be use at local shop. No politics or anything like that. I am mid forties(rate sight and hands) starting to feel old. On some of these like the HJ they have armbands. I was wondering if the decals in the 1/35 scale models to be used on helmets for SS would fit the armband so I don't have to try and paint those? I never thought about it before and I gave away all my 1/35 models years ago. As foggy as the memory is I think they would fit. Now to find out how to get a decal or some simple way to do all these volksturm armbands too. Jonathan. |

Have you thought about printing your own decals? I have seen that you can buy decal paper and print it at home. You could use this artwork from Wikipedia link EDIT – You could probably print a page full of them at about 8mm x 2.5mm on a laser printer and cut them out with a scalpel and glue them on with dilute PVA. That is probably as easy as applying a decal. |

I don't have a decent printer or I would have gone this direction. I wonder how much it would cost persheet. Maybe with 35 volksturm and 12 other HJ or party armbands? Any decal professionals out there that can give an idea? Thank you for the link. That was te image for volksturm armband I was looking to replicate. Maybe even the yellow: armed forces helper one Jonathan.

Have a look at Company B or Warlord. They do a variety of decals for helmets specifically for 28mm figures. 1:35 would be very large on a 28mm figure. |

Vigilant: I have the warlord decals for helmets what I was looking to do was us the red and white and crooked cross 1/35 decal for the HJ armbands. The thought is the scale variance would offset to the purpose of these going on an Armband. I was going to try Doms but I have heard "things" Also not really worth it to buy a color printer to dothis one or two sheets? Well I could get. Make it work.(right?!?). Then the community could have them. Man that is responsibility. Jonathan |

Mick- missed your edit. That seems like a good idea. Decal would be too flat. Maybe give some body to the armband Thank you for the reply. Jonathan. |

Contact company B, they will do custom orders at whatever scale you want. I have gone this route 2 different times. |

That is good to know. I will reach out to company B. Hope not more than say $10 USD a sheet size of the old GW blister sheets. Jonathan |

Bravo two zero – I have used 1/35th decals on my 28mm troops when decals werent available and they can be used but are noticibly larger then the 28mm. Now with the wealth of 28mm decals I just use them and keep the 1/35th scale ones as back up if needed as I always seem to need an extra one whichever project I do. MH :-) |

They would be bigger. 1/35th is 50-54mm (depends on your source). 28mm is closer to 1/48th. |

But the red SS national shield has the white circle that looks to be in scale to fit an armband in 1/48. I may run and get the tamiya box set of any infantry and check. Jonathan. |
