What color of dice disgusts you? |
Mick the Metalsmith | 17 Feb 2018 5:20 p.m. PST |
Low contrast colours with the numbers. Mottled colours |
Winston Smith | 17 Feb 2018 5:22 p.m. PST |
Red with black spots. Light with light markings. |

Mick nailed it. Last year some time I did an in-ranks inspection of my dice. Anything hard to read was either discarded or repainted. Served me right for buying them in the first place. |

Clear/transparent yellow (or other light color) with white numbers. Too hard to read from across the table. |
Parzival | 17 Feb 2018 8:13 p.m. PST |
Clear with no tint and white letters. Clear yellow. Pink. |
Parzival | 17 Feb 2018 8:16 p.m. PST |
Oh, and orange. I hate that color. (Go 'Dores!) |
peterx | 17 Feb 2018 8:52 p.m. PST |
Yup. Low contrast colors are a pet peeve. |

Not so much the color as the inability to read it from a reasonable distance. |

It's really the low-contrast die:inking that's the worst. Mottled colours by default create a low-contrast surface, so going just on die colour — they are the worstest. |

Tiny dice of any color that can't be read from normal viewing distance. Any hard to read dice like transparent, pips that are close to the same color of the die, etc. So basically, any dice that someone trying to get away with something would use. Otherwise I don't care what color is used. |

Clear dice are my least favorite. |

Several people obviously dislike clear dice. I read somewhere ( possibly on TMP) that such dice are more likely to be properly balanced, so give random outcomes. Solid colour dice may have hidden lumps, which weight them to a particular number – certainly seemed to the case in my last Naps Battles game, where a red D10, with white numerals, rolled a statistically unfeasible number of ones! Definitely my last favourite dice now. |

Black but only because I have some sets of weighted black dice so don't normally use them and have a suspicion of other black dice being the same. x42 |
