It's finally done and I had some sun today so was able to take some pictures of the finished Law Stronghold. This was a really fun project, and one that kept growing as I was working it, i.e. I kept seeing things I could do to add to it. Plenty of very tiny bits, but I am thinking the stop sign on the gate was the toughest. Took 4 tries before I got one that I felt was acceptable. It's only 3 MM across and the decal is only 2 MM across! Took about 6 weeks to complete entire model. The model is 6 MM scale and sits on a 60 x 80 MM base.

Again, the building is a modified Leven model, the police cruiser and semi trailer are modified Irregular models, the police officers are from Dark Star (they're supposed to be space guys – but with a different paint job made dandy police in riot gear), the Jersey walls and the two barrels are Perfect Six, the corrugated metal for the walls is cut from plastic sheeting, and the tires are wooden beads I got off EBay from Australia. The lamp post, spotlights in the back, and flood lights on the large front sign are hand made, and the barbed wire is very thin copper wire stripped from a short piece of electrical cord I got at the hardware store. The decals are all custom made from Miscellaneous Miniatures. The street is matt board from an art picture framing shop, and the sidewalk is bass wood sealed and sanded smooth.

OK, now it's off to the next project!

Looks like the part of Dallas I used to police. That's very cool.

Would love to see the HOTT army that goes with it. Have you got another faction to combat them? Great work.

Kropptkin303, Here is a link to the rest of the army. I have not done the bases yet as I will do them when all elements are finished and I still have one to complete yet- a Beast element with a police dog and two officers in riot gear.

link

The basing will be a real challenge as I want most of it to be like city streets and/or sidewalks! Although I plan the Beast element to be on a vacant lot with scrub and debris and a bit of sidewalk showing.

I have 4 armies planned for my Post Apocalyptic effort. This is just the first one finished. They will be The Law. Then the Creepers, think of the baddies in I am Legend or the Warboys in Fury Road (weird city dwellers who have moved underground so will have a very pale almost whitish skin and use their bare hands and basic hand weapons, plus a mutated tree and some mutated dogs). Next are the Road Warriors, think of the bad guys in Mad Max 2 and Fury Road – lots of crazy vehicles, but not many weapons save Crossbows, gang type hand weapons and some firearms. The last is the Survivors – think of the good guys in Mad Max 2, they are a farmer type who have built a compound outside the city and are trying to raise crops and rebuild a society. They have no gazzoline powered vehicles but use horses for their transport, and have plenty of firearms.

If you enjoyed seeing this project, you may enjoy some others associated with it, so here are some links.

And here's my Road Warrior Stronghold – a take off of the War Rig!

I won't start another of the armies until I have totally finished the Law army, but will share them as I progress.

Great work.

Thanks Terry,

Always good to see some HOTT goodness. Have you got your Hero elements sorted? Will Max ride his Interceptor or be on foot? Will there be a chance you have early and late versions of the dude?

Looking forward to seeing these in play.
