Have you tried the vehicle sign companies they do the stuff for removable signs on cars I've found a couple on eBay in the UK that were good for the bottom of boxes

As 66 says, if you have them locally they may give you their off cuts.

I've ordered from both McMaster Carr and mscdirect.com The key is to check the thickness of the magnetic strip. Both of these companies have 1/32" Thick strips which will be stronger than the types found in hobby stores.

Any local sign shop will sell you any length of very strong magnetic sheeting as described by several above. That's how I get mine, then I use Liquid Nails to glue it into the bottom of my boxes.

Extra Crispy,
You have three thicknesses? I only see thick and thin in your web store. How does the third one's strength compare with the others?

@Gokiburi:

The third is not in the store, I just have a big stash for me. It is probably twice as strong as the thick. Maybe 3 times. I just bought it for making movement trays.

Frankly, it's overkill for small minis. You'll pull the minis off the base!

Email me and I can send you a sample. mark@scalecreep.com

All kinds of sizes, colors, and types.

I've ordered several times from them with great success. They will even cut to size for you.

I use 60mil self-adhesive sheet from Magically Magnetic. It is not cheap, but the price includes shipping and it weighs a ton. Their service is fabulous.

I often get it the next day. But I am in Ohio and they ship from PA, so not too far away. The thing is they ship the day I place my order most of the time.

The heaviest pieces I use it for are Foundry and Old Glory 25/28mm mounted figures. I have no trouble, but I don't turn the trays upside down either.
