That looks awful! By which I mean, it looks dirty, scarred, worn, and used, and it's gorgeous. That's a work of art there. The fraying in the ropes and silvered bits of the cable are nice touches.

It doesn't look too dark in the photos, but the color change between the close-up photos and the in-hand photos is interesting. The close-ups are much browner, the in-hand photos greener. Which is a more accurate depiction of the real color?

It also looks like the in-hand photos show less glossy sheen. Is that just an artifact of the photography, or was there a dullcoat applied between photo shoots?

Indeed some dullcoat was applied between the different shots. But the green brown hue is a artifact of the photography, the green colour is its true colour.
