In the days when I used to paint figures with Humbrol enamel I had an issue with their matt white yellowing badly over a period of about 5 years. I had to repaint the white on about 450 figures.

However, has anybody experienced Humbrol white enamel bleeding through white acrylic painted over it?

I ask as I've bought some second-hand figures that have been badly undercoated in white enamel and I can't decide if I should strip them and start again from bare metal or if I should tidy it up with more white enamel before painting as usual with Vallejo acrylics.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I always use White Humbrol enamel as a primer\undercoat and paint over with acrylics. Never had a problem yet and been doing it for years. I don't tend to have many figures with large areas of White clothing.
