Aotrs Shipyards is a webstore on Shapeways.com, a 3D print house which had production and shipping facilities located in the USA and the the Netherlands.

And here – slightly delatedly, is the "January" release! (Would you believe I just forgot in all the confusion of everything else going on?) So, slightly late, is the final wave of the current batch of Wodef!

Larafsyn-Kaylo Battlecruiser

link

The Larafsyn battlecruiser family is a more recent hull design, though by no means new. The Larafsyn is itself essentially an upgrade to the older Uledio Battlecruiser. Aside from the internal improvements and weapons upgrades, the primary difference is that the Uledio's weak central core has been encased in an armoured housing. The older Dofio frigates used a similar method, but it was long believed that to attempt the same on a larger ship would disrupt the GVD focussing coils beneath too much armour. The Larafsyn attempted to fix the issue by increasing the size of the coils by 10% and dramatically improving the power plant. Even so, the Larafsyn's GVD focussing works more as brute force over physics. Opening a portal to GV space takes the Larafsyn almost twice the usual time, and the GVD needs considerable greater maintenance. The burst of EM when the GV portal is opened also tends to highlight the vessel on sensors, and can serious interference with any vessel in proximity to the battlecruiser.

The battlecruiser sports above average manoeuvrability, though its shields and armour are only mediocre for a vessel of its size and value.

The Larafsyn-Kaylo carries a typical array of armaments. The main forward guns are two Dalaon 360 Heavy Lazer Projectors. The Larafsyn-Kaylo boasts twelve Gerfery 279 Heavy Lazer Cannons. This was the first vessel to be fitted with the revised on 0152-class turret mount, which was bulkier, more damage tolerant and less prone to mechanical failures. Three Solon Missile Pods are located on the dorsal hardpoints. Fifteen Rulifnoor Point Defence Turrets provide missile and fighter defence.

Larafsyn-Noalo Battlecruiser

The Larafsyn-Noalo configuration removes the Dalaon 360s for six smaller Dalaon 348V Heavy Laser Projectors. Removing six of the Gerfrey 279 Heavy Lazer Cannons provided the capability to mount four of the then-new Faycor Railgun Arrays – two in the open-shaft Faypri mould, and two fully enclosed in a more standard mounts. The Larasyn thus trades medium range capability for long-range direct firepower.

Jodinf-Damrif Class Tanker/Transport

link

The Jodinf-Damrif configuration is perhaps the one that exists in most numbers, though far less infrequently in battle. The primary military transport in the Enclave fleet, there are also a large number in civilian or government service for high value assets.

As a configuration of a warship hull and mounting twelve Rulifnoor Point Defence Turrets the Jodinf-Damrif is considerably better protected and a great deal faster than a more typical transport. However, this means it carries less fuel or supplies for its size; unlike many other transports, the ship has less than half of its available mass and space available to use. Aside from the space in the central core (where normally weapons emplacements would go), the Damrif configuration also mounts storage pods on the side hardpoints and by the central core.

A further civilian sub-variant, typically referred to as Jodinf-Damrif-Torb, replaces the storage pods with passenger quarters and research labs. Only a handful of these vessels exist, for the personal use of the science council.

Jodinf-Mafco Class Cruiser

link

The Jodinf's Mafco configuration is a development of the Jodinf-Kaylo. The Jodinf-Mafco retains the Gerfery 279 Heavy Lazer Cannons and Solon Missile Pods, but drops both of the Faypri Railgun arrays and replaces the six Dalaon 348M Heavy Lazer Projectors with the newer, larger and more powerful Dalaon 350A systems. Originally a testbed for those weapons, the design was successful enough that the configuration was put into full production when the prototype had been fully assessed. Jodinf-Kaylos can be converted to Jodinf-Mafco with less extensive work that for the other configurations that a few older vessels have been modified during maintenance overhauls. However, at the current time, both the cheaper Jodinf-Kaylo and more expensive Jodinf-Mafco are being produced, in roughly a 2:1 ratio.

Later this month, in the official "Feburary" release will see the first of two waves of the Xyriat Hegemony fighters and carriers. Then there will likely be a ground force release. The plan for the rest of the year in so is to release a couple more support ships for the Wodefs and Xyriats, and then move on to two new elenthnar powers the Xygritt Matriarchy and the Phystyulons, both of which I am hoping to complete before the end of the year.

Accelerate & Attack: Aeons of War is also out now (a generic build-your-own ships system suitable for any set of models) is also now available of Wargames Vault here:

There is also a free Web Enhancement Pack; this contains the markers and the QR sheet the latter of which is an indicator of the level of the game if you want to have a quick nosey.

And, of course, I'm always happy to answer questions about it (though your best bet is to contact me through the Wargame Vault or Shapeways PM, since that PM system here isn't open to everyone and these days, putting your email address on a forum is a no-no!)
