Major? media attention is worth sharing I think. (Though we really should have somebody at the public relations department we don't have.) link |

I'd like to see the British grenadiers full of Zulu arrows. |

hmmm, sorry I did not know this existed. I would have gone. It's only a few hours drive from me. |

herkybird, I think that's 79thPA's point. But it was mentioned in the article, and who are you going to believe--one of those musty old history books or a genuine journalism major? |

Flashman, thanks for sharing. I run down to the Gettysburg Toy Soldier Show, now held at the Eisenhower Resort just south of the battlefield. I've been going for a few years. They used to (and maybe still do) have drawings for door prizes to kids. My kids were some of the few children there and always came home with something. My last trip or two were similar to the story in the link. A lot of older gentlefolk on the seller side of the tables and a few older gentlefolk on the buyer side of the table. I'm not a collector so these trips are like a visit to a museum for me. The stuff is great eye candy but the stories the collectors tell are more than worth the drive time and price of admission. It is a real treat. |

The "Heart of the South" toy soldier show in Annandale, Virginia is coming up -- Saturday, 24 February 2018. A smaller show held at the Annandale Volunteer Fire Department hall, but I always seem to find something useful for 54mm and/or 28mm tabletop gaming. |

If there is a Toy soldier show at the Eisenhower resort, Why can't there be a wargame show? |
