Doesn't need anything added, but I have to mention it, in hopes that I'll see one modelled some day: a traditional feature of a Japanese village (I don't think many samurai would have lived there) is a special pig-frightener, a device that fills with water from a split-bamboo conduit, then dips sharply and raises a mallet, which then thuds down to alarm the piggies from the woods who are trying to steal the crops. |
