Maybe fans shouldn't theorize about it too much lest they force the writers to prove them wrong and disappoint them again.

And then when the forth series rolls around well find that her order collapsed and she's sworn off the force and become a crazy hermit in the middle of nowhere, leaving her friends and the New, New Republic to fend for itself against the Second Order.

*sigh*

Disney's reboot (episode 7-9) was done to close out the George Lucas SW story lines. Disney ruled all the past novels, comics, ect were no longer valid and called them Legends. Then with episode 7 & 8 they've killed of 80% of the original primary and secondary characters. The evil force user is specifically not called a Sith for a reason. The bad guys are no longer called the Empire. After episode 9 is released and finishes out the story arch. Disney will have a clean slate in the SW universe to make up what ever they want. No Jedi, No sith, No Empire, No Rebels clean slate. All the fans are upset because they were expecting the new SW movies to be a continuation of George Lucas SW universe. What we got is Disney ending it.

disney is very good at destroying things: John Carter, The Lone Ranger, Prince of Persia and a host of others. Why are we surprized at their latest victim in a long string of assassinations???

>What we got is Disney ending it.

Not just ending it either. Actually deliberately trashing it because the people in charge at Disney don't approve of its politics.

Add Rocketeer to the list of "Projects not supported by Disney".

And I Liked all those 'unsupported" movies.

What was wrong with John Carter?

Ironwolf29 Jan 2018 3:44 p.m. PST

I liked John Carter movie cause I had never read any of the books. But Disney made the movie, failed to market it. So John Carter the movie was a flop money making wise.

But back on the topic, Star Wars. Disney bought the SW Universe. All the fans are trying to find this connection with the past movies and characters. Disney is cutting all ties to the past movies and characters. Disney wants a clean slate to make their own stories in the SW universe. Since Disney wasn't up front about this, its upset a lot of the fans. But its also drawing in new fans, so I'm guessing Disney wants to create what George Lucas did with the original SW. In 20+ years Disney is hoping to still be making SW movies. Just it will be based on Disney characters not George Lucas's.

They're mixing a whole bunch of PC into the mix and getting just what you'd expect as a result. PC preaching. I doubt it will succeed if Disney continues in this direction.

I hope she doesn't.

It (the order) was religious cult blinded by its own hubris. The sooner it's gone, the better.

According to Obi-wan Kenobi in Episode IV, the Jedi guarded peace and justice in the Old Republic for a thousand generations. If we assume a generation is 25 years, then you had a successful civilization and government which lasted for 25,000 years.

They must have been doing something right.

Well, she's going to have a leave out a lot from the recruitment brochures:

LIVE A LIFE WITHOUT THOSE NASTY EMOTIONS.
