wrgmr1 The Bavarian Infantry were wearing the sky blue uniform in 1618 during The thirty years war described as a light blue which was used by Bavaria and Palatine and was known as Savoy Blue. There is also conflicting information that during the SYW the Bavarian Infantry was uniformed in white the same as the Austrian army as they were part of the Holy Roman Empire forces and changed from white to cornflower blue to differentiate from the Austrians. So it would seem to be a matter of conjecture IMHO but others may know more. |
