The second of our four games at this month's club meeting was an "ACW What If?" supposing a British Intervention Force had cooperated with the Confederacy using the rules, 'Pickett's Charge'.

Nicely done! We played an Intervention Force game some years ago using Fire and Fury – tons of fun!

This game is totally ridiculous, completely detached from historical fact, with no regard for reality. I wish I could have been there.

One of my more memorable games started out with the Union and Confederates fighting it out for two turns. Suddenly, bagpipes could be heard and British troops joined the Rebs. A few turns later, a ragtag group of Mexican revolutionaries poured across the Rio Grande. They were pursued by French Maximilian forces which the Union player threatened to fight if they crossed the river! All this fighting was interrupted
when a herd of buffalo crashed into a Union British melee. We quick came up some "hoof and bayonet" rules! It was quite a game.
